De mujeres y misterios (Women and their mysteries) is a book through which its author, Louisa Amelie Thames, reveals a personal project of reflection and investigation. Based on her own experiences and the recurring barriers that she faced, the author decided to make visible the misinformation that exists around women and the consequences it generates.
Converging factual evidence with history and real testimonies, the author seeks to reach the opinion-building public so that the issues referred to cease to be in the shadows and actually get addressed with the seriousness they deserve.
Chronologically, she investigates the different stages of a woman's life, covering a vast amount of subjects, from gender identity to menopause, including topics such as sex education, menstruation and fertility. Throughout all of these topics, she attempts to tackle the taboos and stigmas that arise and provides actual scientific and historic evidence to do so.
At each of these crucial points in a woman's life, there is a huge misinformation rooted in our millenary history and systematically reinforced by the state, educational institutions and society itself, consequently preventing women's full knowledge of their own body and thus achieving high levels of social and gender inequality.

It's time we talk about it!
